Can Kids take Medication to cure a Anxiety attack
Negative emotions (like sadness, stress, anger, etc.) causes your Serotonin production to be low; when your Serotonin level is low, you are more prone to getting Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Depression, etc.
Medication like Antidepressants (SSRI - Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor) helps to boost Serotonin level.
But there are natural ways to do it without medication. There’s this herb called "St John’s Wort" - it is said to be more effective than Prozac. No, it is not for mild depression only and ignore those sayings. In fact, it does help anxiety and panic-attacks as St John’s Wort works like prozac. Other natural ways will be exercise, diet, more exposure to light, etc.
If you’re unable to take St John’s Wort, you can substitute it with Siberian Ginseng or Licorice Herb.
The problem is that, even if your Serotonin is balanced… you have that "learned behavior" in your mind. You need to break that initial cycle to destroy that learned behavior - Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) does this. A technique that you can use without CBT will be Distraction… There are several other techniques to help cope them!
Ok, to use Distraction: Firstly, try to….

kids shouldnt have anxiety attacks. if they are then our society is clearly screwing them up. and we all know that kids are having anxiety attacks… so do the math.
perhaps medication in our society should be more of a last resort instead of a front line… just a thought. address the CAUSES AND CONDITIONS of the anxiety and maybe some skilled relaxation and it will disappear.
read on:
here is some more info:
how is your stress?
what are you eating/drinking?
what exercise are you getting for 15-60 minutes DAILY?
and very importantly:
what relaxation techniques do you practice TWICE DAILY for 20 minutes each session?
if you have no clue about what I am talking yet what I’ve said seems to resonate with you, you can contact me for more information.

Depending on the age, but yes. Physicians would generally prescribe a blood pressure medication (such as Propranalol/Inderal) to control anxiety somatically. They would not use benzodiazepines or other, more potent medication, as these are not FDA approved for anxiety in kids (again, depending on age).
Therapy works better for kids than medication, like deep breathing, guided imagery, etc.
Side note: I hate people like hypnotherapycw who post pre-written responses to EVERY question on this site. If he knew what he was talking about, I doubt he would be trying to generate clients from a site like this. His answers are so general, they can apply to ANYTHING. FU hypnotherapycw, FU
