An Amino Acid called GABA works great. Magnesium, Passion flower, Hops, Valerian root……

St John’s Wort is supposed to help for mild depression or anxiety. But for something major it would probably be better to see a doctor

The best is a chinese herb He Huan Hua, also called Albizzia floss (mimosa flowers). You make a tea with a small amount. Kava Kava is good. Also pasionflower or skullcap. Skullcap will also ease addiction withdrawals. Passionflower & skullcap both aid sleep. As with all these herbs, too much can be dangerous so use in small amounts.

Kava is good, but should only be prescribed by a practitioner as it can be misused.
otherwise: passionflower is excellent, valerian root, fennel seed and Bacopa leaves are a healing nerve tonic.

lavender is really good for relaxation/anxiety. Oil in your bath water or in a compress to your temples. Also Chamomile tea, drink it or put it in your bath as well.

Take 2 tbls. apple cider vinegar in a glass of water 2-3 x day or whenever you are feeling symptoms. I had anxiety so bad I could not cross the street by myself. I am 50 by the way. Now I can go shopping and cross streets. It has really worked for me. I feel your pain.

There is hope; I’ve been there, and still am there, it is a long, hard struggle. I recommend
Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/cognitive_b... worked best for me, with mild anti-anxiety meds. I suffered from social anxiety for over 15 years. I’ve tried individual therapy, and group therapy and studied psychology for 10 years, as a profession, but also with the hope to cure myself.
Depending on your comfort level, you could go to a psychologist that practices CBT and specializes in anxiety disorders, seek a group therapy, or create one. Usually those that do attend the group therapy are a bit more high functioning because as you know, it can be difficult to speak in a group.
Another idea is to see if there are any local research studies being conducted that you could participate in.
The program that finally worked the best for me is this one: http://www.socialanxiety.us/findinghelp…. and I was lucky enough to have a structured behavioral group to go along with it. Sometimes the people that actually attend this program come back home and form groups.
I recommend a mild anti-anxiety med in addition to CBT therapy.
