Something that can be taken orally, i.e. natural remedy

What works great for me, and many of my friends now, is a formula called Panicyl. It comes in capsule form.

It is a natural remedy for anxiety & stress that has a mix of herbs such as L-Theanine, 5-htp, Rhodila Rosea, GABA, etc. All the herbs and vitamins that are recommended to treat anxiety naturally.

    Anything with Chamomile (sp?)

Particularly Chamomile tea, if you want to take something oral.

It is an old remedy that is known to have very calming effects.

One suggestion is the essential amino acid tryptophan. You can get this from eating turkey. It has been demonstrated to decreas anxiety as its involved in the following biological pathway:

    tryptophan > 5-HTP > serotonin > melatonin

Valerian root is the most common. It works for mild cases but it’s really more sedating than anything.

Breathing deeply, meditation, and mild exercise, taking medicine is not a natural remedy, if thats the case some would say smoke pot, have 2 glasses of red wine or go to the doctor and get pills! But I highly suggest the first three of this answer good luck!

    Fish oil, Rhodiola Rosea

Look up on yahoo for more about these. They are powerhouses, they both do so many things that you might find out they also work for many other things too. Concentration, memory, being less moody, having more energy, being able to tolerate more stress, having more positive moods, nice hair nails and face, I could go on. Check them out yourself.

For example: In one study they found out that the group of prisoners who they gave fish oil capsules were less aggressive and more calm than the group they gave the dummy pill to.
Rhodiola has been used in Russia for hundreds of years for energy and to combat the cold, harsh winters. Also several studies about this one, too.

I take these and have done a lot of research about these 2 things, from many different sources to the extent that I know I’m not just taking it from 1 or 2 random websites that might be a scam.

I make a tea from suan zao ren or Zizyphus spinosa semen roasted, a Chinese herb. (My Chinese friends call stress "thinking too much.") It is made by boiling the seeds with licorice root. The amounts used are about 10 grams of the herb and 3 grams of the licorice root to about 2 liters of water, boiled for about 30 minutes. Side effects in long term use are possible, especially at a dose of 30 grams per day. In my experience, this led to short term memory problems. They discontinued after I stopped the tea for a couple of days. The 10 gram dose should not cause any problem over a period of 14 days in most people.

A lot of meditation and peace and quiet and also plenty of rest. Also their are stress relief vitamins in the vitamin section, You can also drink tea with chamomile, or peppermint, that will help you sleep peacefully. Aroma therapy works too. Take a bath with flowers and oils with candles on the side of the tub. The flowers should consist of Lavender and Rose petals. and the oils should be of the same nature. Make sure that the water is very hot but, not to the point that you burn your self. Then candles should be sented with rose and lavender as well. Before you take the bath take the vitamin and tea for relaxition. Make sure nobody is home so that you can have a peace of mind. After the bath use Jhonson and Jhonson’s Lavender baby oil and baby powder and you should be sleeping in no time. But this will give you the energized rest so that you can deal with the major (B.S stress) the next day. P.S. As adults we all get stress out, no matter what it is and it is up to us to say OK my body had enough and I need a break. If you don’t get that breaking period then you could have a mental breakdown, right now you are reaching out for help and I hear you cause, I go through it too. You may need to speak to a close family member as well to see if they can take some of the load off of your hands just for a little while. Until you rejuvinate. Everything will be alright in time. I guess it is how we deal with things that make us a better person for tommorrow and the next day. I hope you feel better. And remember the leading cause of death is STRESS, so just take it easy for a day or so. This is what I do so that is why I am telling you and believe me it helps. I hope that I have help you to understand that you come first, because without you how is the house going to run itself.

200-300 mg of 5-htp on an empty stomach first thing in the morning has been SCIENTIFICALLY PROVEN to prevent anxiety attacks and restore serotonin levels in the brain. IT IS THE BEST NATURAL REMEDY FOR PREVENTING PANIC ATTACKS RESULTING FROM ANXIETY AND STRESS! Because 5-HTP has been compared with all the various pharmaceutical grade medications used for anxiety and depression it is essential that you start with 100mg the first couple of days, then 200mg for two days, then 300mg for two days. If nausea occurs lower your dosage however, 5-htp (which is essentially the same sedating substance that is in turkey meat) has no known side effect. As a side note, If you have asthma- consult with your doctor prior to usage. Additionally, a magnesium, multi-B, & multivitamin supplement taken each morning with food will prevent dietary deficiencies leading to malnutrition derived anxiety and stress.

Various reputable medical studies - of which can be accessed on-line - give detailed information on the controls/ methods of analysis when determining the effectiveness of 5-htp.
