actually saw a guy riding an elephant, smoggy trucks and buses passed him, so he went into the Ganges and the elephant just did a dump, children were bathing and spouting water etc. etc.?

Try e-coli or a virus (H1N1) in low income countries. Usually the universities library should have an on-line resource or is connected to other universities in your location or internationally. Gov data bases should give you something as well like the main disease rate and what are the causes…etc.
